How do I give a copy of my data to the surveyor?

You can export all you data and a copy of your attachments by using the package data function under the tools menu.

Go to Tools, Package Data

In the dialog box select My Computer and expand it to see you "Local Disk C:"

Note: You must create the package on the "Local Disk C:" drive

Click on "Local Disk C:" then the New Folder button

Highlight the new folder and rename it "CarfPak" Click OK

Click OK again on the confirmation dialog.

You will then see a dialog saying the package was successful or that the package was successful with messages.  these messages will indicate any attachments that could not be copied or that already exist.  If the message states that they already exist it means that you have an attachment that is attached to more than one standard and only one copy was made in the data package instead of copying the same file multiple times.

Now you have your data package and it is located on your hard drive in the folder "C:\CarfPak"

Copy the entire folder and it's sub-folders to a CD or USB drive and give that to the surveyor.

The surveyor then copies the entire folder "C:\CarfPak" and it's sub-folders, from the USB or CD, to their hard drive(Local Disk C:) keeping the same folder name "C:\CarfPak"

Note: You must copy the package to the C: drive of the surveyor,  It will not run from the USB or CD.

The surveyor then opens their Standards Manager and goes to Tools, Data Mode and Location and sets their data path to be "C:\CarfPak\Data"

The surveyor then closes the Standards manager and reopens it.  They will now see a copy of your data and attachments.
